On Tuesday, I checked out the FreshFest concert at Silk City which featured tons of talented artists and bands. Some of my favorites were Wyldlyfe, Sela, and Selina Carrera, but I mainly went to support my little bro Asaad. He’s been making all kind of noise in Philly and has a ridiculous work ethic that I definitely admire. He literally records all day every day, whether its for his personal projects, collaborations with other notable artists, or projects that he’s ghostwriting for. I’ve made posts in the past about his music, so make sure to go back and download everything. Stay tuned for more from Asaad.

This past monday, Philly Fashion Week kicked off with an invitation-only benefit event at Kenneth Cole, featuring a runway show debuting their Fall/Winter collection. I was very surprised to see how many people turned out for the show. Before the doors opened, the line stretched for a full block on Walnut Street.  Both the men’s and women’s collections were very clean and simplistic and I noticed a few essential pieces for any Fall wardrobe.

The photographers were capturing all of the outfits as guests made their entrances on the red carpet.

The event was catered by a chef from Chima, a brazilian steakhouse located in Center City. The steak and chicken was excellent.

Lex liked this dude’s combat boots so I took a picture with him. I wore a Diesel Denim Gallery custom denim jacket, H&M pants, and Visvim Shaker FBTs.

Hats off to Frank the Butcher. He always comes through with the amazing collaborations for Concepts. My pair should be on the way very shortly, because I definitely need them for fall.

I like to sit in the park and work when its nice outside.  Nice weather heightens creativity.

On Saturday night, Wale came to Philly to do Temple University’s back-to-school show.  All of the Freshman had just moved into the dorms, so this was the first social event of the semester.  The Liacouras Center floor was packed and the crowd even spilled over into the stands. Wale performed with his full band, UCB, and did various mixtape tracks along with some of the crowd favorites from the album.

BONUS: Here’s a closeup picture of the sample Uptempo 2’s that he was wearing. They should hit stores sometime around Thanksgiving.

I filmed an artist profile piece yesterday with photographer/videographer, Malik Robinson, and some help from my man Rich McLean. Its gonna be very dope!
